Are DUIs looked at as moneymakers for the gov?

Question by anon: Are DUIs looked at as moneymakers for the gov?
Sorry to be so blunt, but I a curious because I got a dui arrest that was on the lower end of intoxicated level. I read that very few (less than 5%) cases actually go to trial. Do they just want to exchange a plea to reduce charges and get a fine as opposed to the cost of having 90% of DUIs go to trial?
And what can you do to make a judge/da look at you more favorably? Would requesting alcohol treatment help? Don’t bash me for saying that. I really want to not make the mistake again.
Yes, I have a lawyer to negotiate for me. I forgot to say that. I’m just looking for opinions and people who have knowledge about this.
Kaptkos…could you elaborate? Are you saying that lawyers aren’t effective or they benefit the most? Are you disagreeing that money is not an issue for the gov when it comes to how they prosecute DUIs?
I’m only talking about lower end intoxicated and without accidents. This is about the just got caught and nothing more cases. I have never caused an accident for any reason. I have never file an auto insurance claim either.
