Amos Williams for Attorney General

Amos Williams Launches Television Ad Today Amos Williams, Democratic Candidate for Attorney General, unveiled his television ad (attached to this email) supporting his campaign for Attorney General and pointing out the flaws in incumbent Mike Cox’s approach to the office. The ad highlights Amos Williams background as a Viet Nam veteran, retired Detroit Police Lieutenant, and civil rights attorney and the experience and integrity he would bring to the office of Attorney General. The ad also points out Mike Cox’s problems as Attorney General including the fact that meth abuse is up 243% during the Cox administration. It also calls attention to the fact that while Cox brags about his record on Internet crime, his record does not lead the nation, nor even come close despite Cox’s press releases. Last week, the Williams campaign demanded that Mike Cox pull his current television commercial and tell Michigan voters the truth regarding his record on the rising problem of internet predators. The campaign pointed out that while Cox claims to have the best unit in the nation, he’s not even close. Cox claims to have arrested 100Â internet predators in the last 3 1/2 years. Illinois has arrested more than twice that number, Utah doubled Cox’s arrest total in 2003 and Texas has arrested more than four times as many as Cox. In Iowa, the Attorney General’s office made 119 arrests in 2006 alone. Cox’s record even pales when compared to Dateline NBC’s To Catch a Predator series. Working
