Alcoholism Abuse: abuse alcohol

Article by Diego Daniels

The thing about the avoidance of alcohol abuse or use issues by most people with the shrewd ones in particular, can be a good scheme, but it won’t be long before it wears off. Sadly, this is the wrong approach and if people were better educated against the real issue of alcohol and not the imaginary problems they would be much better off. BTW, i found a site about disorientation in spanish: desorientacion.

Most of us harbour the wrong notion that over use or misuse of alcohol could eventually lead to a terminal condition from where there is no return and many consider this condition worse than being inebriated. Most “assessments often make this situation gloomier by limitedly offering a treatment that can uniformly cater to all but nevertheless takes for granted the option of including either moderation or real recovery. Despite the research and what we all know from experience: people make all sorts of changes with regard to their alcohol use just as they do with smoking, weight loss, and many other nagging problems.

So what is the permissible limit of alcohol for adult men and women? It is about two drinks of distilled spirits, two bottles of beer, or one half bottle of wine per day for an adult man, and half that for an adult woman. These amounts confer the most health benefits without any associated detrimental effects. Being in a social setting can be an example of a situation wherein you are more likely to experience drinking way too much than you can handle, however, during your average consumption you should not fail to take control and take heed of the given limitations.

The definition of alcohol abuse come s closely with a situation wherein the person regularly consumes alcohol more than what he or she is permitted to have so and/or the consumption is more likely done in separation with the crowd. The reasons can be attributed to feeling of alienation, lethargy and complete lack of any activity either mental or physical. Usually, when one reaches to this point, the standard approach is correcting the deficiency which can often lead the person back to the healthy manner of use, however, one thing that can speed up the process and be an aid towards achieving the most desired results is through counselling.

The re-establishment of a healthy and normal drinking consumption is the most common solution however, the most suggested option is the total seclusion of one’s self from drinking for about one to two years. By this means, many people chose not to go back to their old bad habits of drinking or even waved goodbye to drinking as they have found the satisfaction of living a successfully modified life. The drenching to alcohol of one’s self in terms of affecting the physical, emotional, and psychological being is often the consequence of alcohol addiction or alcoholism. In the process of alcohol abandonment, certain withdrawal symptoms can be observed such as tremors and seizures in the physical aspect, blackouts on the psychological side and some part of our lives such as financial, legal, vocational, marital, recreational, social and medical will also tend to experience alcohol-related breakdowns. Though this is not a very acceptable figure, about one third of all diagnosed alcoholics come down to moderate levels.

Since the various aspects of the alcoholic’s life such as the physical, social, emotional, and psychological ones is greatly affected, at this point in time, what needs to join forces to effectively put remedy to this condition are both the medical and counselling assistance. Even though chances are slim when it comes to recovery and results may vary from one person to another, still, hopelessness should never be allowed since the main driving forces towards achieving the desired results are proper motivation and the effectiveness of one’s determination. Situations where the person is completely dependent on alcohol or is a victim of alcohol abuse can be restored to normal healthy limits when the individual drinks in moderation. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism stated that more or less 58 percent of U.S. adults with alcohol addiction were able to moderate the levels of their alcohol consumption in a matter of one year.

If you think you are a potential victim or have someone close to you who y are concerned about you could get professional help which offer you plenty of therapy options and not one single ‘formula’ which is universally applied to everyone irrespective of his or her condition. You wouldn’t accept a single treatment for every stage and type of a real disease like cancer, don’t be fooled into accepting one for a non-disease like alcohol abuse.
