addicted to oxycodone and pregnant PLS HELP?
Question by bh_aka_bonnie: addicted to oxycodone and pregnant PLS HELP?
i am currently 19wks pregnant with my first child, i just found out yesterday i am having a boy! i had the 4d pic taken and he is soo adorable and looks like me already! BUT to the point of this post.. before i got preg i had a problem with oxycodone, i tried to quit right away but everyone and everything ive read told me with drawal during pregnancy is extremely risky and i could lose the baby. expecially in the first and thrid trimester i only do one 30mg oxycodone a day and even doing just 15mgs a day will stop me from withdrawal. docs want me to do the methadone treatment but i am completely against it i would be doing higher doses then i am now and i would have to be on it the rest of my pregnancy and my son will come out addicted and go thru horrible withdrawal. i DO NOT want that to happen, i kno this is my own fault but if i knew i was going to get preg i would have stopped way before. i just feel compeltely stuck! and i get so depressed everyday when i do one. i want to ween of and the only thing i can find on the web is that weening off in the second trimester has the least risks to the baby. but i dont kno how to ween off safely. i dont want to do it to fast. like i said i only do one 30mg a day, and my withdrawal isnt that bad, but dont get me wrong it still feels like hell but ive seen ppl worse. has ne one safely weened there self off of opiates during pregnancy and still had a healthy baby?? and if soo plsss tell me how u did it! how many mgs should i cut down to and for how long?! i dont want to be on nething! thats y i dont wana do the meth treatment. and pls no harsh cmnts about being a horrible mother i love my son more than nething and if i could just stop right now and the withdrawal wouldnt hurt my baby i would!! someone pls help me and pls dont tell me meth treatment is my only option bc i dont believe that.
