A serious question — How to go about an intervention for someone close to you?
Question by Autumn&&Deven: A serious question — How to go about an intervention for someone close to you?
I’m not going to get too deep into detail, but someone I know, my mother has had a serious addiction to pain killers, really hard ones and it won’t stop. Its altered her life to the point everyones given up on her and i’ll go through spells of not even knowing where she is at for 9 months straight, I want to pull my family together and get her an intervention – find a rehabilitation for detox and everything. Would anyone know the steps I would need to take?
Thank you (:
How do I stage an intervention, Do I get an actual psycho therapist or what?

I am sorry to hear this. It is very difficult to have to face such a situation.
The first step would be to do your research. Find options, programs, etc. Then, talk to your family and friends. You will need support. Next you have to actually stage the intervention. It will be difficult but you have to be tough. Sometimes tough love is necessary.
