Do you think i’m eligible to a career in LE? prior drug use?

Question by John: Do you think i’m eligible to a career in LE? prior drug use?
Ever since i was just a child Ive always dreamed of being some type of LEO (mostly a police officer) I am currently 19 years old and have had quite a rough past. I’m wondering if i would still be eligible for a position with the Army being an MP, a local police officer, and the ultimate goal being on the Federal level of LE, but first let me give you a quick run down of my life. When i was 10 years old i witnessed the death of my father to a massive heart-attack (who was prior CIA and then an Orthopedic Surgeon, how ironic), within the recent years my mother has become very ill and had a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted. Since my fathers death to my moms recent surgery’s my life has revolved around making sure my mom was alright, i never really played any sports or did extra curricular activities because i was always afraid while i wasn’t with her something would happen. Roughly about a year ago i made some bad decisions with my life and got involved with the wrong scene, i started smoking pot on a regular basis and even experimented with prescription pain killers and cocaine. i finally realized the path i was going down and i sought for help. i spent 28 days voluntarily in an impatient rehabilitation center to better myself and turn my life around. Now i am just about to graduate high school and i have been completely squeaky clean since September of 2009 and i’m really looking towards a successful future, i have a 100% clean rap sheet and have never been in any type of conflict with law enforcement. I am very physically fit and i really have my heart set on pursuing a career in LE and someday being able to follow in my father’s footsteps as a CIA special agent. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question and give me your opinions.
