My roommate and long time friend started using cocaine awhile back, I never thought much of it but I recently found out the problem has continued. When the first of the month came around he couldn’t make rent and when I went to check my secret stash, totaling $ 3,000, to cover his half of rent it was gone and I know he is the culprit. Since he’s been my best friend my entire life I can’t kick him out, I asked him to go to rehab and he refused saying he has no problem. I even brought it to his parents attention and he still refuses to go to rehab even though its covered by his health insurance according to his mom. What I’m basically asking is what can I do to help and cure him of his addiction….ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED….thanks in advance
he doesn’t really have anywhere to go and I’m afraid to send him to the streets…it’ll only get worse if i do

Kick him out. It’s time for tough love. Are you really willing to let this person ruin your life and continue to steal from you? You can’t cure him. If he wants help, then support him, but it’s your job nor do you have the power to fix him.

Edit: consider that if you don’t kick him out, it’s very possible that neither of you will have a place to go in a few months. Are you willing to risk that?
