How/Why is Coca Cola addictive? How to fight it?

Question by Guillermo Fuentes: How/Why is Coca Cola addictive? How to fight it?
Recently after a a few stomach related diseases (heliobacter pylory infection, after almost 2 months of doctors not knowing what I had, and others) I have been taking different medications throughout 2 months and a half. As a result I’ve been on a strict diet ever since. You usually hear alcohol is addictive, and most weekends I’d go out and drink a lot. Well in this 2 months and a half, I haven’t felt alcohol withdrawal symptoms, only Coke withdrawal symptoms. I used to drink probably 1-2 glasses of coke per day, and maybe around 3-6 glasses of water per day, so I didn’t drink coke as much as other people I know. 2 months and a half and sometimes I feel I wanna drink or need to drink a can of Coke. This is probably a sign of addiction? I wanna stop drinking Coke completely, I don’t wanna go back to drinking it even after I’m OK again. How is Coca Cola addictive and how can I stop thinking about drinking a can?
