I am a recovering addict who has 8 months clean time, my husband also. Family have our 2 children where we are from. We are preparing to bring them down and start our new lives together. Some feel the 13yr old has a right to choose. We didn’t get prof. help to just let our children go. How to stand our ground. We want to be the parents God put us here to be, and give our children the life they deserve. The 13yr old, I think is getting that little support from others of a right to chose. We need to stand our ground? Explain to him what’s going to be best for all of us? Give it time and a chance out here?

Truly I believe your 13 year old have the right to be a little worried. 8 months seem like a long time to you, but how long were you on drugs. He probably have seen a lot and been through a lot. Give him time. If he feel stable right now, let him stay where he is, let him visit. Good luck.
