Why do people do drugs?

Question by Helsinki Wannabe: Why do people do drugs?
I don’t mean like ciggarettes, caffiene, alcohol,and prescription medication,though those can also be bad if abused (Ciggarettes are harmful if just used once.) I mean PCP, methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, cocaine, so forth. Why do people do them? It sounds really lame to me if you can’t entertain yourself without trashing your body. It’s also lame if you don’t have enough self respect to not give in to peer pressure for drugs.

Hi Sierra,

many people do it because they want to escape from their problems. Some do it because of peer pressure.

I see it all the time because I’m going to be a 12th grader next year. High school has a lot of that.
