I’ve been addicted to smoking heroin for 3 months; do I need rehab?
Question by ashley.xoxo: I’ve been addicted to smoking heroin for 3 months; do I need rehab?
I am 15 and yes, I admit I have a problem, I made a stupid mistake and want to kick the habit. I’ve only been smoking heroin for 3 months. Though I’m sure some people may suspect I’m using, they don’t know for sure as I have told no one. Should I go to rehab? If I manage to quit on my own (practically impossible) I don’t want to relapse; so I’m thinking I should go to rehab. What kind of rehab should I attend? Residential or outpatient, or should I try to kick the habit myself?

You must get help. Soon! Heroin is an extremely dangerous drug. If you’ve used the drug recently the remnants could still be in your system. Go to a hospital, patient confidentiality prevents doctors from informing the police, though they will contact your parents. Don’t be fearful of what they think, all parents have one thing on their mind, there child’s safety. Doctors can help rid the drug and calm your body. Even if you haven’t taken it recently go to the hospital. It is a very safe place. Doctors can refer you to medical experts and rehabilitation clinics. There are government support plans out there to help people in your situation, especially at your age. You won’t get turned down. You can’t kick heroin, its a drug that releases endorphins into the pleasure receptors of your brain. Once you’ve tried it, your addicted. Its psychological and unavoidable. You need help. Go to a hospital and hurry. Heroin is potentially fatal
