I am ashamed to admit this……?
Question by oneontaw: I am ashamed to admit this……?
I am ashamed to admit this but I was in rehab about 15 months ago for cocaine addiction and while I was there I was amazed at how many people were diagnosed with schizophrenia. I have always thought that this was a rare disease affecting a small percentage of the population. The facility that I was in had 35 people at the most on my particular floor and probably out of the 35 patients at least 10 were diagnosed with this disease. My question is if this disease is so uncommon were the people misdiagnosed or is drugs considered one of the ‘triggers’ associated with the disease? I am interested in psychology and this intrigues me. I also would like to add that I am clean and will never use that horrible drug again. Thank you for answering.

ofcourse using illegal drugs is a contributory factor. drugs are hallucinogens and they mess up the brain really fast.
