Instead of trying to limit executive pay, raise taxes on job creators, and try to control the economy…?

Question by Reagan ’12: Instead of trying to limit executive pay, raise taxes on job creators, and try to control the economy…?
…why aren’t Congress and president Obama trying to reduce welfare recipients? Those who have chosen to work hard, have become successful, create jobs, and aren’t a burden to the rest of society shouldn’t be punished. Those who receive welfare checks who refuse to get jobs and those who receive “tax refunds” who don’t pay taxes are the ones who are burdens to society. It’s obvious that the government is trying to take control over our companies, the economy, and US. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be government property unless I’m in the military and last I recalled, if the government says “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help” you NEED to be afraid.

Obviously I know the hidden agenda that the left has in mind, but if socialism (or “nationalization” for those in denial or can’t use the word like Maxine Waters) is “so good” and “better than capitalism” (as I’ve seen many liberals and Obama supports say) then why don’t they just admit what they are trying to do? Why do they have to pretend to cover themselves by saying it isn’t socialism and that they are just trying to help the economy recover?

At first I was really, honest to God giving Obama a chance. Then he starts picking people for his cabinet and at first some were ok, some were bad. Then after a few more he starts picking people who don’t pay their taxes along with the whole the bailout package nonesense. Then he says he is going to control who makes what and when it is a good time to make profits. He is just a puppet for Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, and the rest of the liberals…and he is doing the exact same thing Hugo Chavez did with Venezuela.

I’m beginning to believe that “recession is when your neighbor loses his job, depression is when you lose yours, and recovery is when Barack Obama loses his.”
Don,

Nice copy and paste. Reagan’s tax cuts stimulated the economy and did work. When you cut taxes, people have more money in their pockets to spend on goods and services which are also taxed. So by lowering taxes, government actually got more tax money back in the long run. The increase in deficits were not his idea, you know. It was because the Congress was spending about 1.5 times the amount of money that the Reagan tax cuts were bringing in.

Killer Queen,

I got the quote from Ronald Reagan, he said it about Jimmy Carter. I didn’t know that you also used it, but I think it’s great!
Wannagodaty,

No, you are missing the point. I am not for executives taking our tax money for bonuses and perks. I am against the bailout altogether, and I know Obama’s limit is set only for the “stimulus package” but the point is, if he and the liberals in Congress succeed socializing the United States, they will have control over the companies and the economy and they WILL put a cap on salaries, bonuses, perks, for EVERYONE.
