How should “in fact” be used?
Question by flaminmonky: How should “in fact” be used?
I’m writing a story and I was just wondering about this. I know a good bit about grammar, but which one(s), if any, of these is grammatically correct?
Isaac is a Forgotten. In fact, he is the only one of the Forgottens working as a lumberjack.
or
Isaac is a Forgotten; in fact, he is the only one of the Forgottens working as a lumberjack.
or
Isaac is a Forgotten, in fact, he is the only one of the Forgottens working as a lumberjack.
And as a added note, don’t say anything about the “Forgottens” part, it is a name of a kind of people in the story. I just know someone would have said something, so just don’t.
