Computer wiped itself and created partition that I cant access?

Question by James: Computer wiped itself and created partition that I cant access?
My windows XP computer wasn’t starting up, it kept rebooting after hitting the windows screen in the startup process. I just hit the f1 key as stated on the image for “help”. Somehow now an hour later my hard drive appears to be wiped, but not fully. Some folders are still there and everything is missing. The computer also seems to have partitioned a new hard disk drive in ‘My computer’ Called PRESARIO_RP(D:) – I pray that “RP” bit stands for repair disk. Whenever I try to explore it it says “warning! this area of your hard drive (or partition) contains files used for your PA recovery. do not delete or alter these files. Any change to this partition could prevent any recovery later”

Anybody know how I can go through this “repair process”? I’d be eternally thankful for ANY help.

Try to reinstall your windows disk. It sounds like you got hacked and you will now have to reformat your pc. It will take a couple hrs to do this, then go online to your computer manufacturer and download the drivers needed (some sites have a program that will look for you and tell you what drivers you need like HP) then you`ll get about 2 hrs of windows updates (most of these require you to reboot your computer after each update so be patient) or you can just take it to a computer shop and have them do it.
