Question by dood: Do I have a marijuana addiction?
My parents seem to think I’m addicted to marijuana. They’ve taken away a lot of my privileges and say they won’t give them back until I quit. I’m temporarily quitting because I will be on probation (nothing to do with marijuana). I’ve been sober for 2 weeks and still have months to go, I know I can do it, but my parents want to waste money by putting me in counseling. I’ve explained to them I have no addiction what so ever and I’m quitting until I’m off probation.

They still think I have an addiction even though I can quit for months (I’ve done it before). If I choose to go back to the lifestyle of smoking everyday after my probation does that mean I have an addiction? In my view point it doesn’t.

I think it is. A person addicted can binge and purge.
