Isn’t the lack of maturity in American Teens not appualing?

Question by Gina P: Isn’t the lack of maturity in American Teens not appualing?
14 was always considered an adult until about a century ago. That’s when parents and society started retarding children’s emotional development so they would stay children longer.
That was so they wouldn’t enter the labor market until later reducing the scab pool so unions could be stronger. It also gave authorities more time to indoctrinate them into obeying directions and completing assignments thus making them better workers and soldiers. Plus it allowed parents to delay recognizing their own aging by pretending their adult children weren’t adult yet.
The terrible price of all that distortion is now we have a whole society of little children in adult bodies. They missed many of the maturation windows of opportunity so now they will be immature most of the rest of their lives.
That explains a lot of the simple minded decisions people make today.
An average american teenager falls far behind a European or Asia teen in everythig from knowledge of history, knowledge about life in general, they excpect everything to be done FOR THEM by their parents, etc. They could care less about discipline since everything is noe “child abuse”

What is wrong with American teens and parents?
Sorry for over generalizing, but I am talking about the vast majority of American teens.
