What will my OBGYN do if I come clean about my opiate addiction?

Question by Kara: What will my OBGYN do if I come clean about my opiate addiction?
I am 8 weeks pregnant and severely addicted to opiates. My latest daily dosages have been 50-100 mgs of oxycodone per day. I am ready to be done with all of it, but I know it’s unsafe for the baby to stop all together suddenly, just as unsafe as my addiction. What I need to know is, what will my ob do when I tell her? Is she obligated to call social services? Will she help me wean off by the time I give birth? My worst fear is that I give birth to a baby addicted to these drugs. No judgements, please. I am asking for real advice from someone who’s been in my shoes. Thanks in advance.
