Does going to psychologist bring out more mental illnesses?

Question by mike_online_now: Does going to psychologist bring out more mental illnesses?
I’m seeing a therapist right now.. and its seems like I am more aware of my problems, but really seems as though my friends know me better than her. And I guess what I tell the therapist is baised, like if I say only certain things to her. How do I know that I’m not building a lie for myself everytime I emphasis a few points to her? Its like an analogy of a sane person becoming insane after talking to a few shrinks and take a few drugs and “treatments”.
Yeah initially I just went for fun. But then i’m also a pre-med psychology and neuroscience student. So everytime I learn something i can usually relate it to me.

That is a disturbing trend in psychology. Many things that were just thought of as quirks or even advantages are now being labled as official disorders. I suggest that you try to focus on the issue that sent you to a therapist in the first place (if you just went for fun or to make sure you probably don’t belong there at all)
