Question by Brian: Why do people use “humans are the only species who drink another specie’s milk” as a reason to not drink it?
I was recently being lectured by my friend (a hardcore vegan) for drinking cow’s milk. He was telling me that it’s weird to drink cow’s milk because we are the only species who drinks another specie’s milk. He thinks drinking cow’s milk should be illegal.
That just doesn’t make any sense to me. If you choose to not drink milk then I respect that. But saying that we shouldn’t because we are the only species who does it is illogical. We are the only species who drives car, does that mean we shouldn’t. Sure, maybe it’s not natural. But neither is wearing clothes, is that a reason to not to? And if you give a dog or a cat a bowl of milk, watch what happens. If they were given the means to drink cow’s milk, more than certainly they would.

Not only is it unnatural, it’s an unfit food for humans. Whenever you eat/drink dairy, it creates an extremely acidic (opposed to alkaline) environment in your body which then leads to the leaching of calcium from your bones to neutralize it. Did you know that the countries with the highest dairy consumptions are also those with the highest rates of osteoporosis?
