Question by smedytennis: Minor and Medical Confidentiality Regarding Marijuana Use?
My girlfriend has been having medical problems and went to the doctor today to see what was going on. They couldn’t figure it out and so they decided to take blood and urine. They did not tell her what they were looking for specifically but said that they were going to do some “general tests.” She is concerned that they are going to find marijuana in either her blood or urine tests. Will they? And if so, will they inform her parents? Are they obliged to? When asked by the doctor if she was using “street drugs,” she replied no.
