I’ve been told by multiple sources that Lance Cade (real name Lance K. McNaught) has indeed died this morning at the age of 29. Complete details are still unavailable but the word is he died of heart failure. The cause will likely not be made available until after an autopsy is performed and toxicology results are reported. This is a process that can take several weeks.

In the midst of the biggest push of his career, Cade was released from WWE in October 2008 after suffering a seizure on an airplane due to a reported drug overdose. He was re-signed by WWE in October 2009 and was placed in the developmental system before being released again in April 2010.

Cade was nearing his return to WWE TV when he was placed in a drug rehabilitation program due to an addiction to sleeping pills. He completed a four-week rehab program in early March and was released from his WWE contract soon after. Cade was told by mentor Shawn Michaels earlier this year he was finished as a top guy.
