The difference is intervention is more like a therapy or some type of realization that will help you stop the addiction.
Control is more like where you put a threshold on to the addiction and you try to avoid it.
Usually you need intervention to help control the addiction.
add:
let me put this into simpler words.
to control you are directing and determining that you are going to get off the addiction.
intervention you are going intervene on your addiction. you are going to interrupt it somehow.
or the opposite way.
an addiction will control your mind and get you to do things you don’t want to do, but you can’t live without it.
or addiction will intervene on your normal activites throughout a day because it diminishes your thought process.
now in conclusion:
an intervention is usually a type of therapy that will intervene with your drug habits.
controlling you are trying to diminish it completely right on the spot usually.
it really depends on what sitaution you’re talking about.
