oxford house? or other free/cheap sober living?
Question by Jak B: oxford house? or other free/cheap sober living?
in a previous question i stated that i was 19, going to rehab come monday, and considering trying to get temporary disability or ssi so that i could afford sober living after. i am still considered a dependent to my mother because i suffer from depression, anxiety, and substance abuse issues. (don’t know if that changes anything or not)
but i was told that without work history i wont qualify for one, and the other would take too long to go through.
i googled as best i could and found oxford house listed, and i was just curious about whether i would be accepted/costs/etc..
i live in a house with my family of alcoholics, and i’d really like to see myself sober. i can’t do that here, so any help is greatly appreciated.
I have no friends who can put me up, and i intend to get a job, but i really wanted to be OUT of here after rehab… coming back might break my progress but i can’t get a job til i return =/

Can you move in with a friend? Get a job at the grocery store or McDonalds if you have to..Get out of the unhealthy environment right now! That is DEFINITELY what’s stopping you from being sober.
Good luck xoxo
