Question by Little Lolita: How much will it cost to see a dermatologist if my insurance doesn’t cover it? Plz help!!!?
I’ve been trying to get appointments with doctors in my hometown area (town of around 100,000 in Missouri), but the only appointment I could get scheduled in an acceptable time frame was actually a Family Nurse Practitioner at a Dermatology Clinic associated with the university medical system. She specializes in acne treatment which is what I need so I am fine with seeing her, but is not on my insurance’s list of providers so I don’t know how much that is going to cost (just for the appointment). Also, even if she’s not on the list, if she prescribes me medicine and its on the list of covered prescriptions, will my insurance cover that even if its not from “their” doctors? If not, or the meds aren’t on the list, how much would generic acne drugs cost?

usually $ 60.00- 80.00 for first visit
