Experimental video about a meeting with Tom Waits. All original images and sounds. It was in the city of Philadelphia, and it was back in the year of 1975. And I was a new shooter in town. Crystal methamphetamine – speed kills. “We love your photos, we’d like to hire you, to shoot a musician named Tom.” Tom what’s-his-name, it was at some dive there in Philly. I got all dressed up, wanted to look sharp – and I put on my pretty, yellow shoes. “Yeah, I’m Tom, shoot a game of pool?”, but I saw him checking out my shoes, from the corner of his eye. “Sure Brother, I’ll shoot a game with you.” Don’t call me brother! Because the minute I turned my back you’d steal my watch!” He just didn’t like my shoes. But things sometimes take a little time to be appreciated. So I just crossed my legs, and have Tom what’s-his-name, have a good long look, at my – my pretty, yellow, shoes. – Jack
