Prison Cuts Mean Nine Deer Ridge Layoffs
Budget cuts of $ 2.5 million are coming to Oregons prison system, resulting in a first-ever closure of an operating prison and layoffs of 63 workers, including nine at the 3-year-old Deer Ridge Correctional Institution east of Madras.
