Question by newrose: Windows error… missing/corrupt file “windows/system32/config/system”?
windows error message when i try to turn on my computer (on a laptop now) “windows/system32/config/system”

looked it up on google but a lot of the “helps” are confusing. anyone know EXACTLY WHAT TO DO? i can’t find my windows set-up CD and would prefer to have to not back up all my files. what now? i don’t know how to access the system restore (show sites said press F8 on opening screen didn’t work) the only one that works is F10 for system RECOVERY…. in which i believe i would have to back-up files.

please someone help or point me towards a site with really easy instructions??? (currently using the microsoft and “help2go” 2 of the first hits off google when searched.)
