Why do some people use ‘statistics’ to justify their racist ideas?

Question by Gloryus: Why do some people use ‘statistics’ to justify their racist ideas?
Ive heard/read some racists here and on other sites use
“statistics” such as ‘blacks kill whites 20 times more than whites kill blacks’ or that ‘blacks rape white women 2000 (yes 2000) times more than whites rape black women. In New York City, about 300 white women are raped by blacks every year BUT there has not been a black woman raped by a white male in anybody’s memory (going back over 20 yrs.)’

DO these people realize that statistics were not made for black women who were raped several times by white men during slavery days? Or did they make statistics for blacks who were lynched/killed, during and after slavery? Or could it possibly be that the tables have turned?
Calliope: There’s no way Im racist against whites, especially when I date some. However, I am very against racists of ANY race who consistently pull such crap like the one I describe in my question.
I should say Im not one of such black people who always talk about slavery or make reference to it all the time. Im simply just criticizing the so called racists who use such examples of statistics to put down blacks.
