The Pulse 3.24: Government Health Agencies on icyou
Welcome to the Pulse Three-Point-Twenty-Four: In this episode we’re excited to announce that icyou now offers videos from thirteen government health agencies. Some of these include the FDA Division of Drug Information, the National Institutes of Health and the US Department of Health and Human Services. Having these agencies on icyou allows us to feature videos directly from these government organizations. On their channels, you’ll learn about policies set in place, as well as news and opportunities to help within these organizations. On the National Institute for Drug Abuse channel you’ll hear about the latest trends in drug and alcohol use. According to one video, a NIDA survey is reporting the lowest rates of cigarette smoking since the inception of the survey, as well as decreases in the past five years of alcohol drinking behaviors and a decline in the use of multiple drugs. You’ll also find tips on how to protect yourself and help others when it comes to drugs and alcohol. While several of the agencies address drug and substance abuse issues, the National Cancer Institute focuses solely on researching prevention and cancer biology, the development of new interventions, and the training and mentoring of new researchers. Their goal is to reduce the burden of cancer and improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.
