Coke vs. Pepsi in song (non-commercial) lyrics?
Question by Julep: Coke vs. Pepsi in song (non-commercial) lyrics?
I was listening to the radio the other day and two songs in a row came on that mentioned Coke or Coca-Cola (please note that I’m not talking about cocaine at all here).
I started thinking about it and started realizing that there sure are a lot of songs that mention Coca-Cola in some form or another.
Here are the ones I can think of… What songs can you think of that mention a soft drink (Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, etc)? Please share title, artist, and the refreshing lyric 🙂
Billy Currington – Good Directions
“I told her way up yonder past the caution light, there’s a little country store with an old Coke sign.”
Rascal Flatts – Mayberry
“Sitting on the porch drinking ice cold Cherry Coke. Where everything is black and white.”
Tim McGraw – Back When
“Back when a hoe was a hoe, Coke was a Coke, and crack’s what you were doing when you were cracking jokes.”
I know all mine are country, but I’d love to hear about others genres too…
Anyhow, it also occurred to me that I don’t hear them mentioning Pepsi often (if ever).
Also, please, I know there are a lot of rap/R&B songs that mention coke meaning the drug… please none of those, cause I know that was all I came up with when I googled Coke Lyrics.
