Question by Manda: Can alcoholics stop the cycle of addiction?
I have dated a man for 3 years. Throughout these 3 years, he has gone through cycles of drinking and not drinking. He will start drinking a little and then one night he messes up gets drunk and gets in trouble (jail, breaking windows, ruining celebration, etc.) Every time he messes up he swears he is done drinking but then that changes to I’ll stop for 6 months then he picks it up again. He recently messed up really bad and swears he isn’t drinking for the rest of his life, a new promise, but one I don’t believe. Will he ever be able to stop?
