When a Wichita County deputy tried to stop a vehicle on East Scott near Fort Worth Street, the driver of the vehicle fled, prompting a pursuit that involved help from a K-9 officer, according to the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office.

Sick inmates keep the county jail budget ill
Sick inmates are still coming to the Greene County Jail and taking a big chunk out of the operational budget. Greene County Sheriff Terry Pierce said the reasons can be traced in part to inmates who have abused drugs — particularly methamphetamine — and an older inmate population.
