My mom has been addicted to prescription drugs for the past 6 years or so. She will go to alot of different doctors to get her fix. She also has her boyfriend going to doctors to get her the pills that she wants. If she runs out or misplaces her pills she will flip out. She also recently found out that she has a tumor on her brain which gives her more of a reason to use the pills. She will do anything to get them. She is also running from the law right now and I really need to know what I can do to get her put somewhere if there is anything at all that I can do. I feel so helpless in this situation but I cant help her anymore other than doing this I have kids to think of and she is not someone taht i want my kids to be around. Please help. Thank you

I do want to get help for my mom and I have already been through rehab so I know how it all works but I am not too sure as to what can be done. She is doing nothing but trying to use the people that care about her and I refuse to do it anymore but everyone else seems to think that it is their resonsibility to take care of her.

The only way that you can get your mother committed to a hospital would be if she was a danger to herself or someone else but what you might do if you’re serious is to let the authorities know that she doctor hops to get her meds. They might be interested in knowing that there are doctors who will constantly give her medicine with out the proper medical exams first. They aren’t likely to prosecute her but use her for the information and offer her rehab in exchange. IF you say that she’s running from the law as hard as it is the most loving thing that you could do would be to turn her in as she would get the care that she needs and the time to think things over and to detox and to deal with the health issues.
