my mom is using drugs, what should i do?
Question by Gunslinger: my mom is using drugs, what should i do?
so my grandparents let me stay at their house last semester for school, my mom was in jail, she got out a bit before xmas, they let her stay there for a little bit, but she’s not allowed there, so i had to get an apt for me and her, i told her no drugs(crack cocaine) or she was out, she’s been battling the addiction for about 17 years or so, almost all my life.
Well, two weeks ago, i found out she did it again, i stayed at my aunts house before and relapsed on lsd once, they said that was my one chance, so i gave her one to be fair. well, it continued, and last week, she stole from my wallet, she said it was to pay off the dealer from last time otherwise he would hurt her, i found out that was a lie and she actually used it to buy more.
I
don’t have a good job right now(2 days a week) and i have all these bills, i hate it, but i told her she had to go, she also fights depression and diabetes. i said she had till the end of this week, she left two days ago and said she was coming back that night, i haven’t seen her since. i love her and miss her, but when she stays home, she sleeps all day and does nothing but miss my brother who’s in afghanistan. i don’t want her to be homeless, but i won’t allow that stuff in my apt, i stopped doing drugs because of Christ, and now she needs to put that stuff in the past.
My dad did the same thing and is now clean also because of Christ, i know she can do it, she just has to be strong. I want her here, but i don’t want her to just sleep and miss my bro or steal from me. she says she won’t go to another rehab either, i don’t know what to do, any help would be nice, thanks for reading my story.

I understand and acknowledge your situation as I have a brother who has been doing drugs since he was 13, he is now 37. He stopped for a while but went back again full force, doing alcohol this time. The feeling I have about such behavior is that these people are running away from their problems and the challenges of life. They have to admit to themselves that they have a problem and they need to possess a strong will to live otherwise all our efforts will be in vain. It takes self discipline and acceptance of a problem to be able to defeat it. Nothing is impossible if you believe. In this case prayer will help and a bit of tough love.
