Question by Protecting the baby: Ok…a new question about the effects of drugs on babies?
I’m the person that asked about the effects of drugs on a newborn. So, let me ask it a little differently because I want to be optimistic about the baby’s health. Has anyone had experience with a drug exposed baby that wasn’t bad? What are the chances that she won’t have issues from the drugs? Her mom did everything while pregnant (cocaine, meth, drinking, smoking cigerettes, etc.). I did adopt a drug baby from DSS but he was only exposed to crack cocaine. He seems very normal and healthy (very smart kid). I don’t think he was exposed much where this mom did everything so I don’t know how to compare the situation.

drugs are Harmful for anyone period.especially for a baby.it can be born with deformities for sure or SERIOS health problems later.some usually never survive at birth:(
fetal alcohol syndrome is common if the mom abused alcohol.
