Statistics is a specialized kind of math. By definition, if it’s statistics, it is a type of math.

However, some ways of displaying data do not require any actual computation other than counting, like bar graphs, line graphs, etc. It’s still math, but it’s not particularly stressful math, so we often don’t notice it!
