My mom is having suicidal thoughts?

Okay so my mom is now about a month removed from detox and rehab for a drug addiction(to narcotics), and shes now telling me shes having suicidal thoughts, I’m really worried. She’s going to see a therapist this Friday but I was wondering if this was a normal symptom of a recovering addict? She also tells me that they’re like voices in her head convincing her to commit suicide.
