Which chemicals are the source of combustion in a Meth Lab?
Question by Cowardly Yamster: Which chemicals are the source of combustion in a Meth Lab?
I am doing a presentation on harmful exposures during the production of methamphetamines, but I don’t know which of the chemicals pose the greatest fire hazard, and which ones are the ones that tend to cause the explosions.
Thanks!

The process requires a solvent like ether to be boiled to encourage the reaction. These solvents are very volatile (evaporate quickly) and are explosive so if the heat source contacts a concentration of vapors, it will explode.
