why is marijuana illegal in most states in the usa?

Question by we’re all living in america: why is marijuana illegal in most states in the usa?
I mean has anyone just sat down and asked their selves that before? why is it illegal? who has ever technically done anything wrong while messed up on weed? most people when they are high just want a chair and quiet and some chill music like reggae esp bob marley so why should an activity such as that that promotes calmness and relaxation be illegal why? my interpretation is as someone else has said before “they” do not want us to find stuff out they want us to see what they want us to see to not have things such as pot to make us think deeper. with out deep thought we wont be able to figure stuff out and they will be able to keep us blind to whats really happening. no no no im not some sort of hippy stoner (more or less been there done that) but I was just thinking about it. I can understand why hard drugs are illegal however(hard drugs being acid,meth,heroin,pcp,crack,cocaine,and ecstasy) because they are overly addictive and destructive. However MARIJUANA IS NOT AT ALL!
