will severe delusions from crack use be permanent?
Question by HONEYBEE: will severe delusions from crack use be permanent?
he didnt do any kind of cocaine or crack for about a year and then all of a sudden, one week he sniffed cocaine 3 days. got a little paranoid one of the nights, but nothing serious. then the next week he smoked crack 3 days in a row and starting the second night he started having severe delusions of people on his roof and he says he saw a bunch of people in the bushes in front of his house. i asked him to show me them, and there was nobody there. and he was talking to them. it is very disturbing, as its still happening. i hope someone has an answer for me. i dont know if it makes a difference, but a few years ago, he used to use a lot of crack and cocaine. but that was before i knew him. please help! im scared for him!!!!

It shouldn’t be permanent, but then you said he used a lot of crack and cocaine a few years ago. Not good. You’re messing with the most powerful item in the universe: our brain.
First off, why the hell did he use again? No offense, but if you’re his girlfriend or good friend or whatever, you need to tell him you cannot see him this way and will quit seeing him if he continues to use. Crack cocaine and cocaine are, in my opinion, the most addictive substances out there. Heroin is weak when it comes to these powerhouses. They wreak havoc on your system and as you’re finding out will destroy the most powerful thing in the universe. That’s hardcore.
So yes, dementia could be a permanent cause of use, but highly doubtful. If it’s continuing, then he must be continuing his use of cocaine.
You need to point him to help, and if he doesn’t accept right now, you need to better your life position. Please, for your own safety and well-being.
