because if you drink too much you will rely on it to relieve you of stress, pain etc. thus, dependence. and eventually you wont be able to mentally cope with life without it thus addiction.

either way, the future doesnt matter, if you drink enough you’ll get alcohol poisoning, or damage your liver, and die.

death solves all of life’s problems if you’re the kind of coward who runs away from problems.
