Question by kamakazee: how do I deal with side effects from the depo provera shot?
I have been on the shot for 6 months now and I have a long list of negative side effects and have decided not to take another round. I suffer from extrem weight gain (50 pounds in 6 months), mood swings, depression, fatiuge, sever breast tenderness, forgetfulness and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anyway to speed up the process of getting out of my body(I was told it can take up to 8 months after the shot no longer protects against pregnancy). Or to help lessen these symptoms?

I was on the Depo shot for about 6 months and had a lot of negative side effects as well. I started feeling like myself again a lot sooner than that…within about a month, I suppose. I never thought about it 🙂 I don’t know about any way to speed up the process, but thought you’d like to know that it certianly didn’t take 8 months for me to feel better. Good luck!
