Confusion over Meth & Coke?

Okay, I’m a 14 year old boy and I just watched the movie ‘Spun’.

I’m very confused!

I thought Methamphetamine was something you smoked, something involving a long pipe and burning it on piece of foil or something and inhaling the smoke

I also thought cocaine was the white substance you snorted.

Meth gave you bad teeth and I’m not so sure about the high, but coke made you jittery and is highly addictive (also makes your nosebleed sometimes)

After the movie I realized that Cocaine isn’t man made, but comes from a plant. So, the drug they were using wasn’t coke, and must of been some other white substance (i was assuming meth because they mentioned it throughout the movie)

I looked online and heard that there are other types of meth. The type used in the movie was crystal meth.

Now that I know this, what are the specific differences and similarities between cocaine and methamphetamine? Don’t worry, I’m not going to get involved with drugs. The drugs that I’m already familiar with I know the bad things of and I’ll try my best never to be pushed in to use anything.

Both can be snorted, injected, smoked. As well as come in several colors, not just white. Both are man made.

Cocaine comes from coca leaves but has to be processed into the drug itself. Meth is ‘cooked’ with many household chemicals. I don’t know exactly which kind, but I do know that Drano, Lighter fluid and some Cold medicines are part of the recipe for making meth.

BTW, knowlege is power. There is nothing wrong with what your asking. It’s fine to want to know this stuff.
