should a person consider buying a home that was a meth lab?

Question by Patricia S: should a person consider buying a home that was a meth lab?
I have an opportunity to buy a beautiful brick home at a much lower price than the other homes in the subdivision. That is because someone made meth in the home. The home was cleaned up by the city and now is for sure. How do you know whether it is safe to live in a home like that?

Dear Patricia, I’m not sure from a safety issue, but let me tell you what happened to my cousin. They bought a home that had previously been a drug house…they didn’t even know it. One night they were raided by the police! My cousin was held at gun point and his wife as well. They were handcuffed and taken into custody. It was a big, giant misunderstanding…but they could have been killed! The city changed their house numbers so that this could not happen again…but what a scare. No, I wouldn’t buy a house that had anything to do with drugs.
