Do you think the “Just Say No” campaign was hypocritical in light of CIA behavior under Reagan?
Question by captain2man: Do you think the “Just Say No” campaign was hypocritical in light of CIA behavior under Reagan?
The “Just Say No” campaign as part of the “War on Drugs” began during the early 1980s, under the Reagan Administration, and was championed by First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Yet – at the same time, the CIA was involved in cocaine trafficking in Central America during the Reagan Administration as part of the Contra war in Nicaragua – and was also most likely involved in cocaine sales in the U.S. – possibly leading to the Crack Epidemic which began around the same time.
So – the same government that promotes a “War on Drugs” and a “Just Say No” program is also directly involved in drug trafficking.
Please explain how I’m not supposed to be completely disturbed by this.
The info about the CIA and cocaine is not crazy conspiracy theory, by the way. This has been well investigated & researched by the FBI, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (the Kerry Committee), as well as investigative journalists.
Kapute2 – OK.

No Kerry Committee? You are incorrect.

some more responses:
1) I don’t do drugs. I’m talking about hypocrisy in government.
2) I’ve been to Mena Airport – know all about it – know about Clinton’s involvement too. I never said he wasn’t a scumbag – but CIA cocaine trafficking began with Reagan – not Clinton.

Look into what Clinton did to the CIA and FBI that prevented them from tracking drug dealers. That should bother you much, much more.
