Addiction Counseling?
I’m finishing up my undergrad in psychology and philosophy and I plan to go on with Grad school for counseling. I am really interested in substance abuse/addiction counseling and I’m wonding what type of programs I should look into. Is it important to first get a masters and then go on to a Ph.D/PsyD, or to just skip the masters program. I am interested in hearing any ideas on programs or opportunities once i have finished grad schools. Also, would it be better to stay more broad and go into a psychology counseling program, and then have the option of specializing in addictions? I’d appreciate any thoughts or ideas. thanks
