How many milligrams of Methadone is equal to one milligram of Oxycontin?

I am about to start a Methadone Maintenance program tomorrow, and i am really scared. i have had a problem with oxy’s for years. I have tried suboxone treatment, and it didn’t work for me. I didn’t feel like myself. I felt like i was a shell of me, i couldn’t talk to people.. i felt anxious and sick, and besides all of that… i absolutely DESPISED the taste.
Anyway, the methadone program has given me a new hope. Hope that i can actually quit in a way that is comfortable and ultimately as painless as possible.
I was just scared that on the first day they wouldn’t give me enough to take away my pain. You see, i take anywhere from 41/2 to 8 80s a day. That is 360-640mgs. I think that is a lot. a LOT. and it is HARD for me to just do 360mgs. Soo…. i was reading that the normal prescribed dosage of meth is between 30-80 mgs… and that they slowly work your way up.
This has made me freak out, and think that i can’t do this. My withdrawels from oxy are far too great to handle, and if i even feel them a LITTLE bit then i won’t and can’t do this.
Anyway so when they tell me what dosage they will give me on the first day, i want to know if it will be enough or not. Mainly because if it isnt, i am screwed. I JUST found out that meth is an opiod BLOCKER. Sooooo if they prescribe me too low of a dose than i will be in withdrawal all day without the option to even take a suboxone ( cuz it will cancel it), let ALONE take a teensy bit more oxy to supliment the low dosage.
i also know that they dosage they want to give you, they can’t (legally) give you right away. You have to be “worked up to” it. .
Anyway… does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I don’t need any lectures or any of that sh*t… obviously this isn’t the time or place for that. Thank you so much.
