Is there something as “exercise addiction”?
Question by Fifo: Is there something as “exercise addiction”?
And I am not talking about people who does it to lose weight, gosh why people think if you are exercising means you wana lose weight, so unresonable, srsly
I am talking about normal ppl without anorexia, bulimia, who exercise and eat.
How they get adrenaline from exercising and how does it make them feel ?
Why it becomes an addiction ?
Thanks

There are some people who become obsessive about exercising. You could almost say professional athletes are clos to that point. The difference between athletes and regular exercise ‘addicts’ is that athletes training schecdules are regulated and have purpose. Athletes don’t train like crazy every day all day. They taper workouts and alternate hard sessions with easy sessions and they eat properly. Then you have people who just train as hard as they can for hours everyday, and get withdrawals if they arent able to train for one day. The problem with this is the danger of over-training, which can cause injuries, illness and or exhaustion.
I think people become addicted to exercise because of the feel-good hormones that are released while training. Endorphins are the bodies own pain killer which is similar to morphine, and this, among other things, is released when you exercise and can make one feel more confident and euphoric.
