Question by Braindead Brainiac: Any such thing as a “caffeine addiction”?
It is 3pm and I am hankorin’ for some coffee. I cut off at 12pm each day as it disrupts sleep, but it is getting harder each day to live up to that commitment. I used to drink 2 full 12-cup pots a day.(Whow, huh?)
So, do you believe that someone can be addicted to caffeine?
Am I a caffeine addict?
Any suggestions on how to make living up to my commitment easier?
Any ideas on why it’s getting harder by the day to refrain after a given time?

Yes, it’s possible to be addicted to caffeine. If you try to quit cold turkey, you’ll get a horrible headache. You could cut back by a cup or two a day and slowly ease yourself from drinking so much coffee. I’m not entirely sure why you keep drinking more and more of it.. probably just because you like it and it’s attainable.
